The Kingston and Barton area (and surrounding parts of Griffith and Forrest) form the Heritage Heart of Canberra. Not only buildings such as the Garden City  housing precincts and icons like the Powerhouse but also parks like Telopea Park. This is a heritage landscape. KBRG aims to protect this heritage. The government approved demolition of heritage buildings such as at the Kingston Arts Precinct (the 1948 Switch Room aka The Chapel) is a poor example of the government’s supposed commitment to preserve Canberra’s heritage.
